2002-04-28 - 1:14 a.m. Camping 7/26/2001 i stared at the bonfire burning before me and the fire leapt like dolphins through a stormy sky as i sat there, consumed by the dancing flames, i heard the dwarves rustling through the dry leaves littered across the forest floor they called out many things: freak fag you're so gay their words stung like acid on an open wound from out of the forest vale glided the most beautiful creature imaginable the light of the fire flickered across her fluttering wings as she descended onto my hunched shoulder my gaze settled upon her lovely face and she began to whisper to sing the dwarves may be screaming obscenities but her whisper could silence their deafening roar it was delicate and sweet to the ear and i relaxed into it like the folds of an ancient quilt we sat like that until the morning sun began to peak over the horizon the fire had burned down to just a few warm embers and the magic that had accompanied it was wilting in the rays of the sun once again i gazed at the creature on my shoulder but the beauty of the previous eve had vanished now the demon which clung there slowly sunk it's venomous teeth into my naked earlobe whatever she had been she was no more a screech echoed through the silence of that piercingly suny afternoon but it soon grew into a roar and she answered it her whisper was gone as she laughed and spit on my face then i ran i left that horrid place of nightmares and returned to my world of dreams back home someone's thundering around their heart is consumed with anger someone called them gay what is gay? gay means happy 'come on come on get happy' let's all dance the night away let's frolic on the autumn breeze and go skinny dipping in the sky let's whisper together, you and i and let us sing.
